Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear unsuited, but the events of the third episode show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then cleared his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
